The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is a volunteer-based, private nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of the 2,175-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail, a 250,000-acre greenway extending from Maine to Georgia.

The Potomac Appalachian Trail Club
The Web site of the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club, which maintains 240 miles of the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and 800 miles of other public hiking trails, including the 250-mile Tuscarora Trail, in the Middle Atlantic region.

Charlottesville Chapter
The Charlottesville Chapter maintains several miles of the Appalachian Trail, from Rockfish Gap to McCormick Gap in the South District of Shenandoah National Park. Chapter members are very active in trail management and also conduct hikes.

Southern Shenandoah Valley Chapter
SSVC is a chapter of PATC based in the Southern Shenandoah Valley. Many members are from the Harrisonburg-Staunton-Waynesboro area of Virginia. The chapter conducts hikes every 2-3 weeks, alternating Saturdays and Sundays.

Old Dominion Appalachian Trail Club
The ODATC is a trail maintenance club and a member of the ATC. Their mission is the construction and maintenance of foot trails for hikers, including that portion of the Appalachian Trail.

Tidewater Appalachian Trail Club
The Tidewater Appalachian Trail Club (TATC) is an energetic group, open to individuals and families, whose primary purpose is to maintain a 10+ mile section of the Appalachian Trail (AT). The Club is centered in Norfolk, VA.

Natural Bridge Appalachian Trail Club
NBATC is a member of the ATC and an affiliate member of the AHS. It maintains ninety miles of the AT in Nelson, Amherst, Rockbridge, Botetourt, and Bedford counties, from the Tye Riverto Black Horse Gap.
