Each year, the Club organizes a picnic for all trail overseers, trail crew members, and their families or (very) close friends. From time to time, we set up other social functions, too. Check ’em out!

Flying McLeods Projects

Our volunteer trail crew in the South District, the Flying McLeods, concentrates on projects behond the scope of the trail overseer. These include rehabilitating badly eroded treadway over a significant linear distance and relocations of the Appalachian Trail in our district.

Shenandoah National Park Activities
Events: 2
Shenandoah National Park, coordinating with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and PATC, offers two chainsawyer certification courses each year. From time to time, the Park also offers projects for volunteers, such as those involving removal of invasive plant species, and trail or hiking promotional events.
