Next to actually doing the work on your section of trail (or hut or cabin), the most important thing you need to do is…report your work. There are several reasons for this, and none of them have anything to do with money. At least, not for you, me, or PATC. Strictly speaking, the Club is required to report the total amount of hours our members expend on trail work, including travel and administrative hours.
So, there’s that.
The move of our Club’s Web site changes the way we, as trail overseers and crew leaders, do some things, such as reporting our worktrips. In the future, there will be more changes, particularly when PATC implements a new, database-driven work reporting system.
Forms
Of course, we have forms to use! And, they’re online!! Click the link below for the type of work you’ve performed—trail, shelter/hut, or cabin. That simple mouse click opens the appropriate form in a new browser window for you. Just fill it in and click the Submit button.
You may not feel much better after doing this, but our Supervisor of Trails will be very happy. And, if the Supervisor is happy, I’ll be happy…happily out from under a cloud, that is.
Also, as you know (or suspect) the size of my bonus at the end of each year depends upon the volume (and accuracy) of worktrip reports submitted by those overseers whom I support.
Yeah; right.
So, just remember: No job is done until the paperwork is finished… |
