This is a copy of Benton MacKaye’s work, originally published in the October 1921 issue of the Journal of the American Institute of Architects, that gave birth to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Download this PDF copy of the program for the dedication of the A.T. relocation on Calf Mountain (July 2012).
Want a hike for your family that both you and your kids will enjoy? Try this hike from Beagle Gap over Little Calf Mountain, prepared by Betty Gatewood of the Southern Shenandoah Valley Chapter. You’ll be happy that you did!
